PillTrack Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
PillTrack ("the app") is made by Horus Studios ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with information about you and the people you track. Contact: hello@horusstudios.com.
The short version
- Your medicines, schedules, dose history, side effects and reports are stored only on your device.
- There is no account. We do not sell data, show ads or track you across apps or websites.
- Information leaves your device only when you use a feature that needs it: Family sharing, leaflet search and questions, scanning a label with online reading, and subscriptions.
Information stored on your device
People you add (name, relation, colour), medicines (name, strength, form, dose, schedule, instructions, stock), dose events, side effects, settings and generated reports. You can erase everything in Settings › Erase all data, or by deleting the app.
Information processed by our servers
Our backend runs on Supabase (EU region). We use it only for the features below.
Device identifier. When you first use an online feature, the app creates a random device identifier and secret. They are not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier.
Family sharing (optional). If you share a person's day, we store that person's display name, the names and strengths of their scheduled medicines, scheduled dose times, and whether each dose was taken, skipped or missed. People who join with your code see this information and receive a push notification when a dose stays open. To send notifications we store the push token of each following device. You can stop sharing at any time; the shared data is then deleted. Dose records are kept for up to 30 days.
Leaflet search and questions (optional). When you look up a leaflet or ask a question, we send the medicine name (and active ingredient if you entered it), your question, the leaflet text and the app language to our server. The server queries the U.S. FDA's openFDA service and uses an AI language model provider (EachLabs, routing to Google Gemini models) to produce an answer from the leaflet. We do not store your questions or answers on our servers; providers process them only to return the answer.
Label scanning (optional). Text is recognised on your device. With Premium, the recognised text (not the photo) is sent to our server and the same language model provider to turn it into medicine fields you can review.
Subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use Adapty to check whether your subscription is active. Adapty receives an anonymous profile identifier, purchase receipts and basic device information. It does not receive your medicines.
Health information
Medication and side-effect information is health information. We use it only to provide the app's features, never for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with data brokers. We do not use HealthKit.
Children
PillTrack is not directed to children under 13. Parents may add a child as a person they care for; that information stays on the parent's device unless the parent shares it.
Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your on-device data at any time in the app. To delete server-side Family data, stop sharing in the app or email us with the request; we will delete it within 30 days. If you are in the EEA, UK or Turkey you may also contact your data protection authority.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the date above.
